Katie Glusica (M.F.A., fibers, 2011) lives in Savannah, GA where she restores antique rugs, weaves, draws and writes in her studio. Glusica has exhibited at the Smithsonian and Philadelphia Museums of Art Craft Shows as well as in galleries across the country. Her work is part of the SCAD permanent collection and in numerous private collections. She uses weaving as a means to engage her viewer with the quantum concept of wave/particle duality. How energy is seen depends on how it is observed. Her works are visual metaphors wherein the interwoven sections of warp and weft appear particulate and the open and unwoven sections are wavelike – yet they are all of one cloth.
